i love jazz and i love The Great Gatsby...but what i truly love most about this time period is art deco as a design style...i love the architecture and the interiors... the use of rounded shapes juxtaposed with lined geometric patterns is just gorgeous...black and white with chrome...or dark woods inlaid with geometric designs shined to a high gloss...

this throw i affectionately call my 'retro ripple'... i love blue and the ripple pattern was a challenge for me because i really had to pay attention...this throw can be used as a lap throw or can be used on a twin bed or even a full bed...this throw can be found in the shop below...

in the spirit of the victorian era...this throw captures some of the key components....and a bit of the feel of the holidays....burgundy and green combine with a neutral cream...and a dash of- ribbons! there are satin ribbons in the coordinating colors woven through the throw...pair it with a velveteen pillow and you'll have a perfect accent piece for a victorian parlour.....on sale now in the shop....

in keeping with this week's design showcase....i'm featuring one of my favorite throws- 'the retro ripple'...i love blue and my original intent was to make something that simulated the ocean and white clouds...i rather like the retro look and feel to this throw....

this throw is currently in the shop...it's a lounge throw so you can snuggle comfortably alone in your chair or on the couch- or share with a friend :) enjoy!

i loved this red heart pattern...i even bought the colors suggested for this one :) crocheting the hearts was a challenge but i learned quite a bit about increase/decrease and i taught myself how to use fabric glue....fabric glue is the super glue of the textile world and it's absolutely the strongest glue i've run across...i would love to make another project with these colors or different combinations...and that's saying a lot because my favorite color is blue ;)

this particular throw was among the first designs i picked to try when i took up crochet again full time...i am intrigued by taking quilt patterns and turning them into yarn projects...this particular pattern is based on an ohio star quilt block and i was happy with the way it turned out...it easily fits on a double bed and can be used as a topper on a queen...the colors blend easily into any country, cottage, or even shabby chic style...take a peek below at the shop to grab this lovely afghan before it's snapped up!
